YVhereas: the serv�ces of�he Public Works Departmen�in Lexington are an integral part of
the everyday lives of all of its citizens; and
Whereas: the support of the citizens of Lexington is vital to �he efficient operation of publ�c
works systems and programs such as water, sewers, stree�s and highways,public
bui�dings, and solid waste collection and disposal; and
T�Vhereas: the health, safety and comfor�of the citizens of Lexington greatly depends on its
public works services; and
Whereas: �he quality and effectiveness of these facilities, as well as the�r planning, design,
and construction, is vitally dependent upon the efforts and skill of public works
employees; and
Whereas: the eff ciency of the qualif ed and ded�cated employees in the public works
department is materially influenced by the knowledge that their work is

N�W, THEREFORE, WE, THE SELECT B4�RD of the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts, do
hereby proclaim the week of May 21 to 27,2023 as
