 u II u u u u u
Name of Project:
Internal Equity Audit
Project Cost: Department: Wn a n a e r
Cost Basis:
The cost is based on quotes offered by four different consulting firms with expertise in
internal equity audits for local government. The total cost for the project is $100,000,
however, $50,000 was secured through grant funding.
Please describe the project:
The internal equity audit would entail auditing our entire organization to measure
organizational climate, leadership readiness, policy and practice review from diversity,
equity and inclusion lens. The project would include employee focus groups, surveys
and review of documents that would help inform the strategic recommendation made
by the consulting firm at the end of the project.
Please describe how this meets the Select Board's Nexus with COVID Pandemic:
The pandemic has shifted the way our organization addresses employee engagement,
flexible work schedule and mental and physical health needs of all staff. In addition the
pandemic and the aftermath has forced us to evaluate the impact of our policies and
services to ensure they are equitable, just and inclusive for not only residents but also
employees. Town of Lexington employees were significantly impacted by COVID in
having to adapt to new technology, deal with peers and residents with declining mental
and physical health, learning to express boundaries to ensure sense of safety and
many other challenges. An internal audit will better help us understand how staff feel
about our organization's culture post COVID and the many changes it brought forth.
Date Submitted to the Town Manager:
Su bm itted By:
