 u II u u u u u
Name of Proect:Upgrades to Building-wide audio system
J
Project Cost: Department: Recreation and Community Programs

Cost Basis:
This is an estimated cost based on input from DPF's AV Technician, Vincent LeRow.
Please describe the project:
The project would include updating the AV systems throughout the building, including
audio upgrades to the microphones and listening devices in rooms 006, 139, 237, and
242. The current equipment is nearing end-of-life and is becoming more costly to fix.
Please describe how this meets the Select Board's Nexus with COVID Pandemic:
This project meets the Select Board's Nexus with the COVID Pandemic in that we are
finally seeing a cautious return to services at the Community Center. While many are
ready to be in person, there is still a large percentage of residents who are quite
comfortable connecting from home. In order to continue to provide the Hybrid services
that are currently requested, we need to have properly functioning equipment. The AV
system, including the wireless microphones, assistive listening devices, projectors and
monitors, are reaching end of life. Currently, when a microphone breaks we must seek
one out on auction and pay a premium because the compatible ones are discontinued.
The listening devices are highly outdated and consume a tremendous amount of
batteries. With an updated system, we would be able to replace them with
rechargeable devices. The rooms that are currently outfitted with AV will be upgraded
to technology that is much more conducive to remote meetings and classes, with
cameras, sound bars, and computers.
Date Submitted to the Town Manager: 3,22.2023
SubmittedB : hristine Dean ommunit enter Director
Y
