The meeting convened at 7:00 PM. TMNCD Commission Members in Attendance: Diane Pursley, Michael Schanbacher, Eric Peterson, Tina McBride, Marilyn Fenollosa (alternate), Glenn Bartolini (alternate) Public in Attendance: None AGENDA ITEM #1 Introductions from all Commissions Each Commissioner introduced themselves and spoke about their history and/or interest in the preservation of the neighborhood. The Commission welcomed a new member, neighbor representative Tina McBride. AGENDA ITEM #2 Discussion of “Statement of Concern for Lexington’s Trees” All Commissioners made themselves familiar with the “Statement of Concern”, but did not think it appropriate for the NCD Commission to take a position on the statement. It is true that one of the important guidelines for the Turning Mill NCD is to preserve the natural landscape, which includes the trees, but the statement does not align with the charge of the NCD Commission. The Commissioners felt the Lexington Tree Committee was the appropriate group to take the lead on town action/priority setting/bylaw regarding the tree canopy. No action was taken. AGENDA ITEM #3 Updates Diane indicated that there may be a project coming for review in the next few weeks for an addition off the back on a house on Partridge. Review will depend upon whether the addition is visible from the public way. The group agreed that it continues to be difficult to connect with new neighbors moving to the neighborhood. Tina held the first Pancake Party in September 2022 after a two year hiatus. The attendance was medium. Eric suggested leveraging the Run of the Mill 5K to educate the neighbors. Maybe we could get a table at the event and/or try to connect through Estabrook. Tina remembered past smaller parties we had to stay connected with neighbors, but with COVID on the rise, they would have to wait until spring. The objective is to educate new owners about the NCD, both members and non-members. AGENDA ITEM #4 Communications from the public: none Meeting Adjourned at 7:20pm.
