HomeMy WebLinkAbout1952-09-16-STATE-PRIMARY-WARRANT WARRANT FOR STATE PRIMARY Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss® To either of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, in said County, Greeting: In the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in Primaries to meet in Adams School, East Lexington, (Precinct One) , and Cary Memorial Building, Lexington Center, (Precincts Two, Three and Four) on TUESDAY, THE SIXTEENTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1952 at 8: 00 o'clock A. M. , for the following purposes: To bring in their votes to the Primary Officers for the Nomination of Candidates of Political Parties for the following offices: Governor for this Commonwealth Lieutenant Governor for this Commonwealth Secretary of the Commonwealth for this Commonwealth Treasurer and Receiver-General for this Commonwealth Auditor of the Commonwealth for this Commonwealth Attorney General for this Commonwealth Senator in Congress for this Commonwealth Representative in Congress for 5th Congressional District Councillor for 6th Councillor District Senator for 7th Middlesex Senatorial District Two Representatives in General Court for 19th Middlesex Representative District Clerk of Courts for Middlesex County Register of Deeds for Southern District Two County Commissioners for Middlesex County And you are hereby further required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in Primaries or Elections to meet on the date and time and in the places aforesaid to bring in their votes on the following question, as provided in Chapter 620 of the Acts of 1952: "Shall a declaration be made by popular referendum, pursuant to the Housing and Rent Act of 1947, as amended, that a sub- stantial shortage of housing accommodations exists which re- quires the continuance of federal rent control in this town after September thirtieth, nineteen hundred and fifty-two until the close of April thirtieth, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, in accordance with the provisions of said Act?" YES NO The polls will be open from 8:00 A. M. until 8: 00 P. M. And you are directed to serve this Warrant seven days at least before the time of said meeting as provided in the By-laws of the Town. Hereof fail not and make return of this Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting. Given under our hands at Lexington, this 25th day of August, A.
