To any of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, in said County , Greeting : In the name of the Connonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Lexington qualified to vote in elections and in Town affairs to meet in Cary Memorial Hall, in said Town on Wednesday, the thirteenth day of July, 1988, at 8:00 P.M. , in which time and place the following articles are to be acted upon and determined exclusively by the Town Meeting Members in accordance with Chapter 215 of the Acts of 1929, as amended, and subject to the referendum provided for by Section eight of said Chapter, as amended. ARTICLE 1. To receive the reports of any board of Town Offin rs or of any cannittee of the Town. ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to purchase or otherwise acquire (i) the land shown as Lot 63 on Assessors' Property Map 66 and (ii) the land shown as Lot 64 on Assessors' Property Map 66; to deter- mine whether this appropriation shall be raised by borrowing or otherwise; to authorize the Selectmen to apply for and accept any federal or state aid that may be available for the acquisition; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) This Article requests funds to purchase the entire Pine Meadows site, both golf course and the 6.2 acre parcel, with the intention of keeping both undeveloped. ARTICLE 3. To see if the Tawe will vote to appropriate a sum of money to purchase or otherwise acquire (i) the land shown as Lot 63 on Assessors' Property Map 66 and (ii) the land shown as Lot 64 on Assessors' Property Map 66; to deter- mine whether this appropriation shall be raised by borrowing or otherwise; to authorize the Selectmen to convey by sale or lease or otherwise all or a portion of such land or other Town-owned land contiguous to such land, including the Meagherville school site, so-called, to a developer or developers for housing and road purposes as approved by the Selectmen; to authorize the Selectmen to apply for and accept any federal or state aid that may be available for the acquisition; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) This Article requests funds to purchase the sane land covered under Article 2 and could also give the Selectmen the authority to transfer some of the land and some of the adjacent >]eagherville site to a develop r. It is anticipated that the motion, as presented to Town Meeting, will tie this authority to a specific development plan to be presented by the Pine Meadows Advisory Cannittee. ARTICTF 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to convey by sale or lease or otherwise all or a portion of the Meagherville school site, so-called, to a developer or developers for housing, recreation or road purposes; or act in any manner in relation thereto. (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) This Article would give the Selectmen authority to transfer all or part of the Meagherville site to Moore Homes Inc. either for housing and golf course purposes; or for a road connection to Garfield Street, or for both. And you are directed to serve this warrant fourteen days at least before the time of said meeting as provided in the By-Laws of the Town. Hereof fail not, and make due return on this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before the time of said meeting.
