RECEIVED <br /> 2023 31 Jain, Z55 �prTi <br /> Estabrook School Site Council Minutes <br /> 1/25/23CLERK <br /> 4:15-5:15pm <br /> LEXINGTON MIA <br /> In attendance: Gerardo Martinez, Tom Grasso, Christina Gavin, David Boyer, Alison Burke, <br /> Hatim Zariwala <br /> Discussed Proposed Budget <br /> • Downloadable version available <br /> • Enrollment trends: projected 25 classrooms <br /> o Kindergarten enrollment is TBD, 4 sections anticipated <br /> • There are emergency funds available when extra sections are required. Principals <br /> submit "supplemental request" to superintendent. <br /> • Special Education Funds: we have caseloads that allowed us to hire another teacher last <br /> year <br /> • Budget will be voted on before final version is released. <br /> • We have the ILP program at Estabrook, which services students with ASD. <br /> o Currently have K and 1- these students will move to 1 and 2 next year <br /> o We will receive a new K cohort next year <br /> ■ Currently we have 3 incoming students from LCP <br /> o New SSI assistants for new cohort next year <br /> • We will have a behavior specialist/interventionist dedicated to Estabrook .5 next year <br /> • We work with the Spec Ed dept to increase services as needed <br /> • Supply money: based on enrollment#, then attaches a dollar amount per student <br /> o $75,847 up 2.6% from FY2022 budget <br /> o Using this as much as possible, we give back to the town what we don't use <br /> o Paper, supplies, ink cartridges, books, etc <br /> o We don't ask parents to give supplies <br /> • Additional funds <br /> o Morning Club <br /> o Estabrook Gift fund <br /> o Community Grant through PTO <br /> • No severe cuts this year <br /> • Approved for Morning Club for next year <br /> • Question: will fourth grade still have five sections next year?Yes, based on current <br /> numbers. <br /> Discussed Innovation Plan Update <br /> • Goal 1: phonics program implementation. Currently at K,1 and 2. On target. <br /> • Goal 2: Math curriculum grades 3-5. On target. <br /> • Goal 3: DEI lessons. District led, on pause. Based on the Learning for Justice <br /> Standards.
