ARTICLE 43 STABILIZATION FUND <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for a Stabilization Fund in <br /> accordance with Section 5-B of Chapter 40 of the General Laws; determine whether <br /> the money shall be provided in the tax levy, by transfer from available funds, <br /> or by any combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: Amount undetermined at this time. <br /> DESCRIPTION: Money may be appropriated into a stabilization fund, invested <br /> and interest added to it and become part of the fund, by a two-thirds vote <br /> at an annual town meeting. The use of these funds may later be <br /> appropriated for any purpose for which the town would be authorized to <br /> borrow money under Sections 7 and 8 of Chapter 44. <br /> ARTICLE 44 CONSERVATION LAND PURCHASE <br /> To see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission to purchase or <br /> otherwise acquire, and will authorize the Selectmen to take by eminent domain, <br /> upon the written request of the Conservation Commission, for conservation <br /> purposes including outdoor recreation as provided by Section 8C of Chapter 40 of <br /> the General Laws, as amended, any fee, easement, or conservation restriction as <br /> defined in Section 31 of Chapter 184 of the General Laws, or other interest in <br /> all or any part of land shown as Lot 6A (9.5 acres±) and Lot 8 (10.7 acres±) on <br /> Assessors' Property Map 73 now or formerly of Charlotte Goodwin and appropriate <br /> money therefor and determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax <br /> levy, by transfer from available funds, or by borrowing, or by any combination <br /> of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Conservation Commission) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: It is anticipated at press time that sufficient funds for <br /> this purchase are available under previously authorized bond issues. <br /> DESCRIPTION: Two parcels located in Tophet Swamp adjacent to conservation <br /> land are proposed for purchase under this article.
