ARTICLE 30 PRECONSTRUCTION WATER SYSTEM <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for engineering services for <br /> a preconstruction water system analysis; determine whether the money shall be <br /> provided by the tax levy, or by transfer from available funds, or by any <br /> combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $80,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds to conduct a professional <br /> engineering analysis of the water distribution system of the Town. The <br /> purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing system and to identify <br /> and program long range improvements to the water system. <br /> ARTICLE 31 INSTALL DRAINS/WIDENING, <br /> DEEPENING OR ALTERING BROOKS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to install drains in such accepted or unaccepted <br /> streets or other land as the Selectmen may determine, including the widening, <br /> deepening or altering the course of brooks, streams and water courses and the <br /> construction of new channels in said other land, in accordance with Chapter 263 <br /> of the Acts of 1926, as amended, or otherwise, and to take by eminent domain, <br /> purchase or otherwise acquire any fee, easement or other interest in land <br /> necessary therefor; appropriate money for such installation and land acquisition <br /> and determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy, by transfer <br /> from available funds, or by borrowing, or by any combination of these methods; <br /> or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: Undetermined at this time. <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article provides for the installation of a closed <br /> drainage system on Grant Street from York Street to Vine Brook. At press <br /> time the Board of Selectmen had not determined whether to propose that this <br /> project go forward. <br /> ARTICLE 32 BROOK CLEANING <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to clean and maintain streams <br /> and brooks in the Town; determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax <br /> levy, or by transfer from available funds, or by any combination of these <br /> methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: None. <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds for cleaning of streams and <br /> brooks. It is anticipated that projects for Fiscal Year 1984 will be <br /> completed under previously authorized articles and within the operating <br /> budget. <br />
