ARTICLE 24 RESERVE FUND <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the Reserve Fund as <br /> provided by Section 6 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, and determine whether <br /> the money shall be provided by the tax levy, by transfer from available funds, <br /> including the Reserve Fund-Overlay Surplus, or by any combination of these <br /> methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $150,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This is an annual article which requests funds for the <br /> Reserve Fund, from which monies can be voted by the Appropriation <br /> Committee where it feels a requested transfer is either extraordinary or <br /> unforseen thereby saving the delay and expense of a Special Town Meeting. <br /> ARTICLE 25 TAX ANTICIPATION BORROWING <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval <br /> of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the <br /> revenue for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1983, and to issue a note or notes <br /> therefor, payable within one year, in accordance with provisions of General <br /> Laws, Chapter 44, Section 4 as amended and to renew any note or notes as may be <br /> given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with the provisions of <br /> General Laws, Chapter 44, Section 17; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: None <br /> DESCRIPTION: This is an annual article which authorizes the Town <br /> Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, to borrow in <br /> anticipation of taxes. <br /> ARTICLE 26 CONSERVATION FUND <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate an additional sum of money to the <br /> Conservation Fund, established by vote under Article 9 of the Warrant for the <br /> Special Town Meeting held on June 8, 1964, and determine whether the money shall <br /> be provided by the tax levy, by transfer from available funds, or by any <br /> combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Conservation Commission) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: No new funds <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests transfer of some remaining balances <br /> from prior years' conservation articles to the Conservation Fund <br /> established in 1964. The fund is generally used to pay the cost of making <br /> appraisals on land, title searches, legal fees and other costs incidental <br /> to land acquisition. <br />
