Annual Warrant -5- March 2, 1942 <br /> Article 32. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Lexington <br /> Zoning By-law and Map as follows : - <br /> By changing under Section 3. (b) C.1 Districts paragraph 8, <br /> which now reads :- "Upon the westerly side of Massachusetts <br /> Avenue beginning at the northerly line of Winthrop Road and <br /> extending northerly to a point opposite the southerly line <br /> of Merriam Street and of a depth of 100 feet from the west- <br /> erly line of Massachusetts Avenue throughout" <br /> to read as follows:- Upon the westerly side of Massachusetts <br /> Avenue beginning at a point northerly and distant 568 feet <br /> from the center line of Winthrop Road and extending northerly <br /> to a point opposite the southerly line of Merriam Street and <br /> of a depth throughout of 100 feet from the westerly line of <br /> Massachusetts Avenue <br /> or take any action thereon. <br /> Article 33 . To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to <br /> petition the li?gislature for legislation amending St. 1922, Ch. 1, <br /> striking out/ section 1 of that Statute , the words, "Overseers <br /> of the poor, " and providing for a Board of Public Welfare separate <br /> from the Board of Selectmen to be established either by election <br /> under General Laws, Ch. 40, or by appointment by the Board of <br /> Selectmen and Public Works as the Town shall determine or any <br /> similar legislation; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 34. To see if the Town will approve a Program recommended <br /> by the Board of Selectmen and the Appropriation Committee for the <br /> establishment of a policy relative to the operation of the various <br /> administrative departments of the Town and relative to Town <br /> finances during the present war and for a reasonable period there- <br /> after; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 35. To see if the Town will authorize the acquisition <br /> of an easement for surface drainage and appropriate money therefor <br /> or provide for the payment therefor by transfer from available <br /> funds, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 36. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate money <br /> for the erection of a temporary structure to contain the names of <br /> those Lexington citizens serving with the armed forces of the <br /> United States of America, said structure to be placed at some con- <br /> spicuous public place, the location to be selected by the Board of <br /> Selectmen; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br />
