TOWN WARRANT <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss. <br /> To the Constable of the Town of Lexington, in said County, <br /> Greeting: <br /> • <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed <br /> to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Lexington, qualified to vote in <br /> elections and in Town Affairs, to meet in the Cary Memorial Building, in <br /> said Lexington, on Monday, the fourteenth day of November, 1949, at 8: 00 <br /> P. E. then and there to act on the following articles: <br /> Article 1. To receive the reports of any Board of Town Officers or <br /> of any Committee of the Town and to appoint other Committees. <br /> Article 2. To see if the Town ivill' vote to determine that the Board <br /> of Assessors shall consist of three persons to be appointed by the Selectmen <br /> under the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed. ) , Chapter 41, Section 26, or <br /> act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen on <br /> behalf of the Town to purchase, take by eminent domain or otherwise acquire <br /> for the purposes of sewerage , drainage, water, and public travel, or for <br /> . any one or more of said purposes,- a tract of land containing approximately <br /> 31,948 square feet belonging to Matthew A. and Elizabeth G. MacCauley on the <br /> northeasterly side of Marrett Road and bounded on the southwest by Marrett <br /> Road 132.80 feet, on the northwest by land of the Town of Lexington 254.71 <br /> feet, on the northeast by land now or formerly of Sorrentino by Outlook <br /> Drive and land of one Reid 124.06 feet, and on the southeast by land of one <br /> Loja 244.55 feet, and to provide for the payment therefor by a transfer from <br /> available funds, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to establish as a town way <br /> or accept the layout of as a town way, Liberty Avenue from Ledgelawn Avenue <br /> to beyond Hamilton Road, a distance of approximately 1,220 feet as laid <br /> out by the Selectmen, under the Betterment Act , and shown upon a plan on <br /> file in the office of the Town Clerk, dated October 6, 19)49, and to take <br /> by eminent domain or otherwise acquire any land or easement necessary therefor, <br /> and to provide payment for the construction of said street by the issue of <br /> bonds or notes of the Town, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to establish as a town way <br /> or accept the layout of as a town way, Ledgelawn Avenue from Bedford Street <br /> to beyond Hamilton Road, a distance of approximately 2,135 feet as laid out <br /> by the Selectmen, under the Betterment Act, and shown upon a plan on file in <br /> the office of the Town Clerk, dated October 6, 1949, and to take by eminent <br /> domain or otherwise acquire any land or easement necessary therefor, and to <br /> provide payment for the construction of said street by the issue of bonds or <br /> notes of the Town, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to establish as a town way <br /> or accept the layout of as a town way, Braemore Terrace from Liberty Avenue <br /> to North Hancock Street, a distance of approximately 280 feet as laid out by <br /> the Selectmen, under the Betterment Act, and shown upon a plan on file in <br /> the office of the Town Clerk, dated October 6, 1949, and to take by eminent <br /> domain or otherwise acquire any land or easement necessary therefor, and to <br /> provide payment for the construction of said street by the issue of bonds or <br /> notes of the Town, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br />
