DESCRIPTION: This article requests $7,500 to fund the addition of historic buildings to the <br /> Town Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey (Inventory). The inventory is available to <br /> Lexington homeowners interested in the historic value of their property, students and <br /> historians and real estate brokers. <br /> ARTICLE 28 STABILIZATION FUND <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for a Stabilization Fund in accordance with <br /> Section 5-B of Chapter 40 of the General Laws; determine whether the money shall be provided <br /> by the tax levy,by transfer from available funds, or by any combination of these methods; or act <br /> in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $125,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: Money may be appropriated into a stabilization fund that may be invested <br /> and the interest may then become part of the fund. The use of these funds may later be <br /> appropriated, by a two-thirds vote at an Annual or Special Town Meeting, for any purpose for <br /> which the town would be authorized to borrow money under Sections 7 and 8 of Chapter 44 <br /> of the General Laws, or for any lawful purpose. <br /> ARTICLE 29 RESCIND UNUSED BORROWING AUTHORITY <br /> To see if the Town will vote to rescind the unused borrowing authority voted under Article 12 of <br /> the Warrant for the 1993 Annual Town Meeting and Article 22 of the Warrant for the 1996 <br /> Annual Town Meeting; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> DESCRIPTION: Article 12 of 1993, in the amount of$350,000, was for the removal of <br /> infiltration of ground water into the sewer system. The Town received a grant as well as a <br /> loan from the MWRA for this purpose. The project has been completed with $100,500 <br /> remaining as debt authorized which this article seeks to have rescinded. Article 22 of 1996 <br /> authorized $275,000 for land acquisition on Woburn Street(corner of Woburn Street and <br /> Fletcher Avenue). The land has been purchased by a private party and the bond authorization <br /> is no longer required. <br /> 23 <br />
