Review development trends, both internal and external, affecting Lexington <br /> center. <br /> 2. Define a "role" for the center in serving the needs of the town. <br /> 3. Evaluate the potential for expanding commercial activities in the center. <br /> 4. Evaluate the effects of expansion (either horizontally or vertically) on <br /> existing commercial activities within the center an on adjoining areas. <br /> 5. Identify land uses or activities which should be endouraged to locate, or <br /> expand, in the center. <br /> 6. Propose standards for an appropriate intensity of development in the center. <br /> 7. Consider the relationship between transportation elements (traffic, parking, <br /> pedestrian movement) and land use development. <br /> 8. Define design objectives that will enhance the "role" determined in #2 above <br /> with particular attention to the scale of buildings in relation to the treat- <br /> ment of open spaces (including the street scape) . <br /> 9. Identify specific actions to implement recommendations. <br />• <br />
