A recommendation was made to attempt to study the <br /> remaining building facades related to module, scale, <br /> entrances, materials, signing, etc. , in order to allow the <br /> design of the new building to blend in comfortably with <br /> the existing building. CH indicted photographs of the <br /> entire downtown had been taken and field measurements were <br /> underway. <br /> 6. Mr. Kostic indicated that an RFP for survey work is being <br /> completed and that it will include the immediate property <br /> that adjoins the burned-out building; to allow a good <br /> interface of adjacent conditions. <br /> 7. Discussion about possible tenants led to questions about <br /> market analysis and earlier reports by the Chamber of <br /> Commerce carried out by Town. Recommendations included: <br /> men' s shops; hardware store; quality shops like <br /> Brookstones; sport shops like Hermans; and outdoor stores <br /> like EMS, Eddie Bauer, L.L. Bean; bakeries and Aetons. <br /> The Committee noted that variety is important in <br /> Lexington; it is not necessarily a restaurant town, a <br /> "food center" . <br /> 8. Materials for the new structure which were discussed: <br /> masonry, brick, and white trim; no curtain walls. <br /> 9. CH to contact John Davies of the Historic Distric <br /> Commission for possible attendance at the meeting at 8PM, <br /> Rm. G-15, on January 14th. The Design Advisory Committee <br /> may also be included.
