Once her internship is completed at the end of August she <br />will be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist <br />o Ryan Carruthers, a Therapeutic Recreation practicum student has successfully <br />completed his hours and assisted with the success and implementation of <br />Adaptive Swimming lessons and inclusive swimming lessons <br />o Cotting School volunteers have returned to the Community Center for the 2022- <br />2023 school year <br />• Save the Dates: <br />o Saturday, August 201h- Please join at 11 am for a special coffee hour in the <br />Courtyard (Community Center Lounge in case of inclement weather) as we place <br />a painting by Ukrainian painter, art teacher, and mother, Natalia Pecheniuk, on <br />display at the Community Center. <br />o Tuesday, August 23rd — Fall program registration begins. <br />o Tuesday, August 23rd —The Open Space & Recreation Plan community <br />engagement meeting with the Conservation Committee has been scheduled for <br />the evening (either 6:30p or 7:00pm start). The Recreation Committee has been <br />invited to participate (with quorum) to streamline the meeting and discussion <br />into one joint meeting. <br />Abutter update — during the July meeting, members asked how an abutter is <br />defined/determined. After follow up with the Town manager and Town Cousel, the <br />following was confirmed: "Well there's no straight answer, but the usual answer is that <br />it's property that either directly abuts a parcel or is adjacent across a street from the <br />parcel. For some legal reasons (some liquor licensing, zoning etc.) it's extended further. <br />The answer usually comes from some source of law. For zoning, it's technically an <br />adjoining property or an adjoining property to an adjoining property within 300 feet.
