RECEIVED <br /> 2022 03 Oct, %54, aiii7,,i <br /> TOWN CLERK <br /> School Master Planning Advisory Committee Charge LEXINGTON <br /> MA <br /> Members: 12 members <br /> Appointed By: School Committee <br /> Length of Term: Two Years <br /> Meeting Times: Biannually (twice a year) or as determined by the Superintendent of <br /> Schools <br /> Description: The Lexington Public Schools Master Planning Advisory Committee <br /> ("Advisory Committee") was established in 2018, pursuant to School Committee Policy <br /> BDF. The School Committee recognized that a master plan for school capital projects <br /> was necessary and prudent, as Lexington continues to experience enrollment growth. <br /> The Advisory Committee developed and recommended a 5-10 year capital plan for <br /> school facilities, analyzing current facilities and enrollment forecasts, and developing <br /> conceptual plans and timelines for needed additional educational spaces. Comb end"Ium. These documents were approved by <br /> the School Committee on May 25, 2021. <br /> The ongoing work of the Master Planning Advisory Committee includes the following: <br /> 1. Assess current capacity findings and identify options to align future school <br /> capacities with enrollment projections and educational program requirements; <br /> and <br /> 2. Develop recommendations for addressing capacity, including costs and <br /> timelines. <br /> Criteria for Composition: <br /> Members shall consist of staff and citizens with sufficient background to understand <br /> facility assessments and the impact of facilities on the educational process, and others <br /> with a skill set that supports the ongoing work of this committee. Membership would <br /> include from the School Committee, Select Board, Permanent Building Committee, <br /> Planning Board, PTOs/PTAs; Recreation Representative, and citizens selected through <br /> an application process. <br /> While not members, the Appropriation and Capital Expenditures Committees are invited <br /> to recommend non-voting liaisons: <br /> Ref: um genal Char ce adopted by the School Committee on May 8, 2018. <br /> The School Committee approved this revised Charge on August 30, 2022 with the <br /> ongoing work and revised composition. <br />
