FORMAL HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 7 Depot Square, exterior changes (Signage) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents Full plan set of proposed alteration: dated June 15, 2022 Photographs of entire face of each building elevation visible from the public way: dated June 15, 2022 List of Material: dated June 15, 2022 Work Scope Narrative: dated June 15, 2022 Owner Authorization Letter: dated June 18, 2022 The applicant explained the proposed changes to 7 Depot Square. The Board felt the proposed plans were appropriate. No Public Comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 7 Depot Square. Motion carried, all in favor. The Board approved the replacement of the gutters with the proviso for correcting the profile. Lee Noel Chase will serve as liaison for this application to see the details as built. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 1620 Massachusetts Avenue with the proviso that the appropriate depth and the profile matches some of the others. Motion carried, all in favor. The Board approved the signage replacement subject to a final submittal with the revised dimensions. Robert Adams will serve as liaison for this application to review the revised dimensions. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 46 Bedford Street with the proviso of details delegated to Robert Adams and to work with the applicant. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 1403 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior changes (Additions) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District Documents Full plan set of proposed alteration: dated June 30, 2022 Photographs of entire face of each building elevation visible from the public way: dated July 12, 2022 List of Material: dated July 14, 2022 Work Scope Narrative: dated June 30, 2022 Owner Authorization Letter: dated June 30, 2022 The applicant explained the proposed changes to 1403 Massachusetts Avenue. The Board agreed this application will continue to next meeting with update proposals. Robert Adams will serve as liaison to see if it is appropriate. Dan Hisel recused himself of this application. Katherine Kerr, 1415 Mass Ave, stated the mature trees running along her property and the museum should not be removed, and the new redesign parking lot should not create light pollution or any runoff, because her yard sits lower than the current parking lot. Her concerns about the extension of the canopy had been noted. The Board agreed this application of awnings as presented is appropriate, and the remainder of the design will continue to next meeting in September. Paul O’Shaughnessy will serve as liaison to see if it is appropriate. Dan Hisel recused himself of this application. No Public Comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 25 Waltham Street of awnings as presented. Motion carried, all in favor. The Board felt the proposed plans were appropriate. Mark Connor has been administratively served as liaison of this application to see if it is appropriate. No Public Comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 0 Massachusetts Avenue (Emery Park). Motion carried, all in favor. INFORMAL HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the informal hearing for 611 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior changes in the East Village Historic District Documents Collapse Situation explanation dated June & July 2022 The applicants briefly introduced the partial collapse situation of 611 Massachusetts Avenue. 4 / 5 Jim Kelly, Lexington Building Commissioner, explained the partial collapse situation and suggested to demolition the house immediately. The Board was in supportive of what Mr. Kelly’s statement to maintain public safety. Robert Adams has been served as liaison to see if it is appropriate. Paul O’Shaughnessy made a motion to support the building commissioner in any necessary actions for public safety. Motion carried. All in favor. No Public Comments.
