Communications Advisory Committee
Lexington, Massachusetts
Special Meeting
November 30, 2006
The purpose of this meeting was to develop the Committee’s report on LexMedia’s
performance over its first year, from October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.
Under the contract between the Town and LexMedia, the CAC is to conduct a
performance review at a public hearing within the 90-day period following the end of the
evaluation period, i.e., between October 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006.
The performance review was conducted on November 21, 2006. Prior to this meeting,
the subcommittee charged with establishing a set of performance criteria and conducting
the performance review (Jim Gonzalez and Jim Baker) had prepared a draft evaluation
report.
The meeting at the Legion Room of Cary Hall was called to order at 7:15 pm.
Present were Committee members Jim Akimchuk, Dave Becker, Jeanne Canale, Jim
Gonzales and John Rommelfanger.
The attendees discussed the best way to structure the evaluation report, notably what the
sections should be and how the Committee’s observations, conclusions and
recommendations should be broken down and grouped. We agreed that LexMedia’s
finances, staffing, and 501(c)3 status would be important elements of our evaluation, but
felt that additional work would be needed to make the report most effective.
Because of the short time available for us to complete the work (the report is due to the
th
Board of Selectmen for their review on December 15), we decided to schedule
additional meetings as necessary with email exchanges of draft sections and additional
suggestions between the meetings. Jim Gonzalez will take responsibility for integrating
comments and suggestions on an ongoing basis and issue identified and controlled drafts
to all attendees.
th
The next meeting will be held on Monday, December 4 at a site to be determined.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 pm.
