MTNTTTES OF THE mEETIITG OF THE APPROPRIATION COPi mI TTEE <br /> HELD AT TI-IE TOOPTT OFFICE BTTILDTNTG, MONDAY <br /> EVENING, January 29, 1945. <br /> The meeting was opened in the office of the Town <br /> Accountant at 7:45 P.m. , by Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt, with <br /> the following members in attendance: <br /> Lewis L. Hoyt, Chairman <br /> Fred C. Newhall Ronald Brown <br /> J. vi lton Brown George M. Hynes <br /> Thacher .Tenney Harvey Winlock <br /> Raymond Bond earl E. Bryant <br /> Raymond L. White - Town Accountant <br /> Minutes of the Meeting Held January 22, 1945. <br /> It was regularly moved and voted to dispense <br /> with the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting <br /> held January 22, 1945. <br /> Raymond Bond spoke relative to the School Teachers ' <br /> salaries . Fe said he was quite interested in the figures <br /> submitted in a magazine stating that the total of 900,000 <br /> school teachers had an average salary of 01,550.00. He <br /> asked the Secretary if the total teachers ' salaries were <br /> available - as well as the number of teachers - and to <br /> figure out the cost per teacher. The total salary figure <br /> was computed and it amounted to around $2,000.00 per <br /> teacher here in Lexington. <br /> Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter received <br /> from the School Department in which the School Committee <br /> recommends at the next Town Meeting that a committee <br /> of seven be chosen to select a future school site. <br /> Chairman T-Toyt then said that he would like to get the <br /> opinion of each individual member as to the 15° salary <br />
