Hoyt read letters from the Committee <br /> on Public Safety and the Board of Selectmen requesting transfers <br /> from the $15,000.00 Committee on Public Safety Fund to the follow- <br /> ing accounts : <br /> $200.00 for Administration, Operation and <br /> Miscellaneous Expenses <br /> 100.00 for Air Raid Wardens <br /> 250.00 for Personal Services and Clerical <br /> Work <br /> 300.00 for the Report Center and Telephone <br /> Account <br /> 50.00 for the Mounted Patrol <br /> X900.00 <br /> A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve the <br /> request of 13900.00 to be transferred from the Committee on Public <br /> Safety Fund to the above-named accounts. <br /> The Secretary of the Appropriation Committee was requested <br /> to obtain from the Secretary of the Committee on Public Safety a <br /> copy of the approvals of expenditures from the 015,000.00 Committee <br /> on Public Safety Fund. <br /> Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter from the Board of <br /> Selectmen where they voted to approve the payment of approximately <br /> $68.00 additional compensation to A. J. Bevington, a military <br /> substitute on the full-time force of the Lexington Fire Department. <br /> As this amount is to be taken from the Fire Department - Personal <br /> - Services Account, no action was taken. <br /> Chairman Hoyt spoke about the Salary Report and felt that <br /> it should be considered, as adjustments were necessary on account <br /> of the present conditions. A motion was made, seconded and voted <br /> that a letter be written to the Board of Selectmen relative to the <br /> present Salary Report. Chairman Hoyt is to draft such a letter. <br /> The Police Department was discussed in regards to their <br /> automotive equipment. One of the new cars purchased a year ago is <br /> still in storage. <br /> George C. Sheldon, Selectman, entered the meeting at <br /> 9:05 P.M. relative to the settlement of the land-taking case of <br /> Mr. Reinap on Spring Street. The settlement is to be $100.00 and <br /> the Board of Selectmen decided to pay the same out of the Law De- <br />
