Hoyt read letters from the Committee on Public Safety and the Board of Selectmen requesting transfers from the $15,000.00 Committee on Public Safety Fund to the follow- ing accounts : $200.00 for Administration, Operation and Miscellaneous Expenses 100.00 for Air Raid Wardens 250.00 for Personal Services and Clerical Work 300.00 for the Report Center and Telephone Account 50.00 for the Mounted Patrol X900.00 A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve the request of 13900.00 to be transferred from the Committee on Public Safety Fund to the above-named accounts. The Secretary of the Appropriation Committee was requested to obtain from the Secretary of the Committee on Public Safety a copy of the approvals of expenditures from the 015,000.00 Committee on Public Safety Fund. Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter from the Board of Selectmen where they voted to approve the payment of approximately $68.00 additional compensation to A. J. Bevington, a military substitute on the full-time force of the Lexington Fire Department. As this amount is to be taken from the Fire Department - Personal - Services Account, no action was taken. Chairman Hoyt spoke about the Salary Report and felt that it should be considered, as adjustments were necessary on account of the present conditions. A motion was made, seconded and voted that a letter be written to the Board of Selectmen relative to the present Salary Report. Chairman Hoyt is to draft such a letter. The Police Department was discussed in regards to their automotive equipment. One of the new cars purchased a year ago is still in storage. George C. Sheldon, Selectman, entered the meeting at 9:05 P.M. relative to the settlement of the land-taking case of Mr. Reinap on Spring Street. The settlement is to be $100.00 and the Board of Selectmen decided to pay the same out of the Law De-
