1. r .. Article 7 - Outside Lighting New High School - Plan prepared by Boston Edison calls for 31 lighting standards. The Selectmen are recommending 14. It is expected that the trenching and con- duits will cost $10,000.00. If the Boston Edison supplies the standards, cable and install the services, including the pulling of cables thru the conduits, there will be no charge for this service, but, the annual cost per unit will be $53.92 forevermore. Tf we pay for the service to be rendered by the Edison Co., the annual cost per unit will be a saving of over $20.00 per year. ( Don' t know whether we can buy this service yet .) Article 8 - No appropriation needed. Articles 9-10-11 Taken up and voted September 14, 1953. Article 12 - Rent Control - If this article is passed by the Town Meeting it will cost approximately as follows : Office Head $3,500 to $4,000 ( annually) Clerk 2,200 " 2,800 " Equipment 500 Article 13 - No additional information relative to costs. Mr. Burns left at 9 :20. Mr. Hunter, Chairman of the Elementary School Facilities Committee and Mr . J. Blackhall Smith, Supt. of Schools, came in to discuss Article 11 relative to Maple Street School - left 9 :45. Adjourned to Selectmen' s room. Left at 10:15 after discuss- ing the Articles pertaining to both groups. Reassembled and voted as follows; Article 2 - Recommend favorable action. _ Article 3 - Recommend favorable action. Article 4 - Left open until October 2, 1953. Article 5 - Section I. Appropriation of $35,000; to be transferred from Excess & Deficiency. Section II. Appropriation of $25,000; to be raised in the Tax Levy of 1954, Article 6 - Appropriation of $7,000; to be transferred from Excess & Deficiency. Article 7 - As total request not available to defer. Article 8 - Recommend favorable action. Articles 9 - 10 - 11 - Voted previously.
