1. r .. <br /> Article 7 - Outside Lighting New High School - Plan prepared <br /> by Boston Edison calls for 31 lighting standards. The Selectmen <br /> are recommending 14. It is expected that the trenching and con- <br /> duits will cost $10,000.00. If the Boston Edison supplies the <br /> standards, cable and install the services, including the pulling <br /> of cables thru the conduits, there will be no charge for this <br /> service, but, the annual cost per unit will be $53.92 forevermore. <br /> Tf we pay for the service to be rendered by the Edison Co., the <br /> annual cost per unit will be a saving of over $20.00 per year. <br /> ( Don' t know whether we can buy this service yet .) <br /> Article 8 - No appropriation needed. <br /> Articles 9-10-11 Taken up and voted September 14, 1953. <br /> Article 12 - Rent Control - If this article is passed by <br /> the Town Meeting it will cost approximately as follows : <br /> Office Head $3,500 to $4,000 ( annually) <br /> Clerk 2,200 " 2,800 " <br /> Equipment 500 <br /> Article 13 - No additional information relative to costs. <br /> Mr. Burns left at 9 :20. <br /> Mr. Hunter, Chairman of the Elementary School Facilities <br /> Committee and Mr . J. Blackhall Smith, Supt. of Schools, came in <br /> to discuss Article 11 relative to Maple Street School - left 9 :45. <br /> Adjourned to Selectmen' s room. Left at 10:15 after discuss- <br /> ing the Articles pertaining to both groups. Reassembled and voted <br /> as follows; <br /> Article 2 - Recommend favorable action. <br /> _ Article 3 - Recommend favorable action. <br /> Article 4 - Left open until October 2, 1953. <br /> Article 5 - Section I. Appropriation of $35,000; to <br /> be transferred from Excess & Deficiency. <br /> Section II. Appropriation of $25,000; to <br /> be raised in the Tax Levy of 1954, <br /> Article 6 - Appropriation of $7,000; to be transferred <br /> from Excess & Deficiency. <br /> Article 7 - As total request not available to defer. <br /> Article 8 - Recommend favorable action. <br /> Articles 9 - 10 - 11 - Voted previously. <br />
