Bateman, Chairman <br /> Appropriation Committee <br /> 1725 Massachusetts Avenue <br /> Lexington 73, Massachusetts <br /> Dear Mr. Bateman: <br /> The Executive Committee of the Trustees of the <br /> Cary Memorial Library have awarded the contract for <br /> the installation of the new boiler at the East <br /> Lexington Branch Library to Mr. Lester L. Andrews <br /> for the sum of 1 .60. This bid was 84 less than that <br /> submitted by Mr. Vernon Page. <br /> The Trustees are, therefore, asking for a <br /> transfer to the Library Expense Account of 8460 <br /> rather than the 8533 originally requested. The <br /> reduction in the amount requested is due to the <br /> choice by the Trustees of a smaller boiler than <br /> the one now in the Branch. <br /> The boiler chosen is a W-21-0 American Severn, <br /> rated for 840 feet, which will be ample for the <br /> 627 feet of free standing radiation now in use. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> Ralph A. M. and explained his <br /> request for I10,000.00 for Water Services. 221 services <br /> have been installed to date and 110 more to be installed <br /> to the end of the year, at an approximate cost of t87.95 <br /> each. <br />
