Discussed necessity of telephone meeting in order to <br /> transfer. <br /> It was voted to call a special meeting instead of having <br /> a telephone meeting. <br /> It was voted to send the following letter to Board of <br /> Selectmen, with reference to the necessity for all transfers: <br /> "George W. Emery, Chairman December 13, 1949 <br /> Board. of Selectmen <br /> Town Office Building <br /> Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> Dear George: <br /> At a meeting of the Appropriation Comr::ittee <br /> h1d on December 12, 1949 it was unanimously voted to <br /> refer your Board to Section 31 of Chapter 44 ( copy en- <br /> closed) relative to the overdrafts of these accounts <br /> which are needing transfers. <br /> It is the opinion of this Committee that when an <br /> appropriation is exhausted that particular project should <br /> come to a halt until funds are made available. That after <br /> the transfer only emergency work should be carried on.
