A letter from the Treasurer was read as follows: <br /> "Howard A. Patterson September 9, 1949 <br /> Chairman, Appropriation Committee <br /> Lexington, Massachusetts <br /> Dear Howard: <br /> It will be necessary, at this time, to ask for a <br /> transfer of $79.50 for the account of Treasurer' s Expenses <br /> in connection with the recent Sewer Loan of $45,000.00. <br /> It was necessary to pay $45.00 for the certifications of <br /> the notes, also there is an outstanding amount of $34.50 for <br /> the printing of same. <br /> These amounts were not included in the annual budget <br /> as there is no way of telling what amounts would be required <br /> each year for the issuing of notes or bonds. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> JAMES J. CARROLL/S <br /> Town Treasurer' <br /> It was voted to transfer $79.50 from the Reserve Fund to the <br /> Treasurers - Expenses. <br /> It was voted to transfer $330.00 from the Reserve Fund to the <br /> Connection Fiske School Fire Alarm System. <br /> A letter from Donald M. Fifield was read as follows: <br /> "Howard A. Patterson July 28, 1949 <br /> Chairman, Appropriation Committee <br /> Lexington, Mass. <br /> Dear Mr. Patterson: <br /> At the March 21, 1949 Town Meeting the voters directed <br /> the Moderator to appoint a committee to make a thorough study <br /> of the present capital outlay requirements of the Town and <br /> those that may reasonably be anticipated within the next five <br /> years. <br /> This Committee has been appointed and has commenced its <br /> study of Town problems as directed. In order to obtain as <br /> much information as possible it has been decided to invite <br /> the various town officers and departments to present their <br /> ideas on this'ratter. <br /> Beginning August 17, 1949 this Capital Outlay Comm- <br /> ittee is planning to meet at the Town Hall on every Wednes- <br /> day evening between eight and ten o' clock. In order to <br /> give each department sufficient time to present its views <br /> we have drawn up a tentative schedule. Your committee has <br /> been scheduled for September 28th. If this is not convenient <br /> please advise me and we will arrange a date on some other <br /> Wednesday evening. <br /> I am enclosing a copy of our tentative schedule for <br /> your information. <br />
