415 <br /> Minutes of meeting held on December 6, 1971 - page 2 <br /> He explained the need to purchase the safe, as requested by the In- <br /> surance Company. If the order to purchase was not made within 5 <br /> days , the policy would be cancelled. The possibility of self-insu- <br /> ring and night deposits was discussed. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED as follows: <br /> Acct. #2700 - Tax Collector-Exp. - 5650. to purchase safe <br /> The meeting was re-opened at 10:00 P.M. <br /> Members of the Conservation Commissionoined the meeting g at this <br /> time, and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to go <br /> V into executive session. <br /> Present with the Commission were Chairman S . Brown, A. Frick, <br /> H. Kassler, M. Rawls, N. Cohen, S . Solomon, L. Nichols, P. Mazerall <br /> and M. Friedman and E . Greene . Members presented, in detail, their <br /> 8 proposals for land acquisition. The advantages and disadvantages <br /> of conservation easements and eminent domain takings were discussed. <br /> At the present time, the Commission' s proposed land acquisitions <br /> would require funds of approximately S424 ,500. <br /> Chairman Furash stated that their land acquisition proposals, again <br /> this year, seemed piece-mealT- that an over-all Master Plan for <br /> open space to be acquired over a period of years would give a <br /> clearer picture of the Commission's plans for the entire Town. <br /> Member of the Commission Kassler explained that a Professional <br /> Planner and Negotiator is what their group needs-volunteers give <br /> a great deal of their time, but their experience and time is <br /> limited. <br /> Chairman Furash thanked them for their presentation, and the Com- <br /> mission retired from the meeting at 11:05 P.M. <br /> The next meeting night is scheduled at 7:30 P.M. , on Tuesday, <br /> December 14, 1971. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> f ` c 4 717. <br /> Elizabeth M.
