X 4
The Appropriation Committee held a meeting at 7:30 P.M., on Monday,
October 18, 1971, in Room 111, Town Office Building, Lexington.
Present were Jack L. Mitchell, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn,
Secretary, J. Harper Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Howard L. Leving-
ston and Donald B. White and Richard M. Perry, Comptroller.
Due to the absence of Chairman Furash, upon motion duly made and
seconded, it was VOTED that Vice Chairman Mitchell serve as Chair-
man Pro Tempore for this meeting.
Member Levingston reported to the Committee on his meeting with
the Mystic Valley Mental Health Association. It was primarily a
meeting to discuss, with participating Towns, their budget and
problems for 1972. Their case loads could double this year and
they wish this growth to continue. They are considering increasing
their services to include adults . They are not amenable to any
freezing of their budget or programs .
Member Levingston advised that the percentage of Lexington' s assess-
ment for the Association could increase, in 1972, from 17.9, to
22.71.
Chairman Mitchell requested that the minutes show that at the next
meeting discussion should be held relative to the Selectmen estab-
lishing a Committee to look, deeply, into the program of the
Association.
The Chairman and Members felt that guidelines and philosophy for
the 1972 budget should be discussed and established in the very
near future .
The next meeting night is not scheduled, at this time .
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. to tour the new Town Office
Building facilities .
Respectfully
submitted,
f242.1.
M. Flynn
Secretary
