(441 6 <br /> The Appropriations Committee held a meeting at 8:00 P.M., on Monday, <br /> December 29, 1969, in the Comptroller' s Office, Town Office Building, <br /> Lexington. Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, Edward E. <br /> Furash, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Richard M. <br /> Perry, Comptroller, J. H. Blaisdell, Jack L. Mitchell, H. Bigelow <br /> Moore, Donald B. White and Louis A. Zenner. <br /> Meeting was held with Joseph Burke, Superintendent of Public Works <br /> with respect to a requested transfer from the Reserve Fund. Mr. Burke <br /> explained that the funds were needed to purchase sand and salt, to <br /> pay salaries and plow rentals for the three recent storms . $34,000. <br /> is the present bill and another storm would deplete the balance, since <br /> 2/3 of all sand and salt has been used. <br /> Reserve Fund transfers: <br /> Acct. #2400 $200. Town Celebrations Unpaid bills <br /> Pres. Bal. <br /> $11.71 <br /> Acct. #3800 2100. Police Expense Bills to <br /> 12/31/69 <br /> Acct. #4450 300. Inspec . Dept. Sub. Wire <br /> Inspector <br /> Mess Bal. <br /> $637.42 <br /> Acct. #5500 27,000. Snow Removal <br /> Reserve Fund Balance <br /> 37-37-T2777767------ $37,163 .50 <br /> Upon motions duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to transfer the <br /> above requested funds. <br /> The Chairman reported on a letter received concerning the setting <br /> up of a telephone Legislature alarm system for town and city Finance <br /> Committees. V.C . Furash was nominated to serve as representative <br /> to the Committee. <br /> The Chairman also reported on a letter received from the School Com- <br /> mittee with reference to a study of bussing. It was decided that <br /> the study and determinations more properly belong with the School <br /> Committee than with Appropriations. <br /> The next meeting night is scheduled at 7:45 P.M., on Monday, Janu- <br /> ary 5, 1970, in the Comptroller's Office to discuss the following <br /> budgets : Civil Defense, Fire Department and Police Department. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Ki* tf-tA,24 <br /> Elizabeth M.
