Lexington station, and 12 men at headquarters . It takes 3' men per 2)4 hour shift to man each position. Vacations are beginning to "do a job" on them because, with more seniority men are now en- titled to more vacation, and it is impossible to cover all position. An increase in extra duty is necessary ($8,000. ) for time and a half that must now be paid by law. Expense budget was reviewed. Safety shoes to be purchased for eachman for one year will cost (. $18. per pair. An Article is to be submitted for addition to the Fire headquarters that would add two bays . Cost for approximately 3,2 .0 sq . ft . would be $51,000. The Fire Commissioners withdrew at 9:30 P.M. Recreation Committee : Meeting was held with Robert Bond, Chairman, Charles Gallagher, Jr. , Gary Margolius and Director of Recreation, Ben Bertini0at approximately 9:x-5 P.M. The Personal Services budget was discussed. They want to add 3 new people for new programs in the amount of x$''1600. The cost of manning the "Old Res.", if it opens, will be ; 7,100. Plans are, now, to open with temporary toilet facilities . Due to the size of the beach area, a limit of 300 persons at one time will be necessary. The Recreation Committee is reviewing user' s fee problems and they hope to come up with recommendations to the Selectmen in January. If the Rec . Comm. had to assign priorities to capital projects, it would cut in the area of playground equipment for neighborhood areas . — They -will request lighting for tennis courts in the amount of approxi- mately $8,000. The Recreation Committee withdrew at 11:00 P.M. Executive session was held et this time to discuss the Director' s salary. Reserve Fund Transfer: Town Report Committee $250. to provide start on 1970 report Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to approve the requested transfer. Reserve Fund Balance : $67,963 .50 as of 12/15/69 The next meeting is scheduled at 8:00 P.M. , on Monday, December 22, 1969, in the office of the Comptroller. The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
