This and the extra men would enable them
to expand Sunset Ridge, the back ead of cemetery.
Backhoe will dig a grave in 20 min. compared with 5 hours hand digging.
Development and expansion of destview are allowed for in an Article
in the warrant each year. There is $7,500 available from previous years'
Articles plus $4,000 in 1967 warrant. Committee felt the backhoe's
principal use would be for development and expansion rather than for
cemetery operation which seems to need no more than 60 hours backhoe
work per year.
Compressor (00 42,070) requested. PdD compressor cannot be relied upon
to be available when needed by cemetery. Additional 31800 requested for overtime if they do not
get the backhoe. This would be for grave—digging on Saturday for Monday
burials. I . backhoe is purchased, all grave—digging could be done
during regular five—day week, the only overtime would be for funerals
on Saturday.
Selectmen's :.ieeting All Selectmen present
Executive Session
Tax Rate — rough computation shows possible 38 increase.
