To-711 insurance. <br /> Committee voted to approve budget of $9,800 for personal services d4300 <br /> 10,000 for expenses 4350 <br /> 0 for out—of—state travel 4430 <br /> Out—of—state travel request is for the purpose of sending two <br /> assistants to the meeting of Civil Defense people; Mr. Burrell's <br /> expenses are paid by the Association, of which he is President. <br /> Mr. Lerro' s answer to request for his ruling on whether budgets to be <br /> read at Town Meeting should be as recommended 'a; the department or by <br /> Appropriation Committee 4as received from Kr. Gray at the end of this <br /> meeting. Mr. Legro reviewed the past policy of the Town, stated that he <br /> 'found no law which indicated that what the Town Las been doing is wrong' , <br /> and gave his advice that the Town should not change this procedure. <br /> He had also given his advice to the Selectmen, in answer to their request <br /> for a ruling, with respect to their inserting an Article nn kindergartens. <br /> Rollowing his suggestion, the Selectmen had voted not to insert such <br /> an Article. <br /> iter Sec tfully submitted, <br /> ituth F. Souza <br /> John Carroll came to discuss Public Works budgets. <br /> Budget requests as approved by the Selectmen were read; many showed <br /> increases due to salary changes by the Salary Advisory Committee. <br /> Asst. Supt. of Pub. Works is to go to new building. John Car oll <br /> requests an Administrative Assistant, a new position, mainly to make <br /> studies and improve the operation of the Dept. IIe also requests <br /> two additional clerks, one for nem building, one here. Committee <br /> suggests one girl and use of clerical pool while getting Admin. Asst. , <br /> then see what is needed. He would agree to this. <br /> Operating budgets were explained by Carroll but not discussed by <br /> Committee.
