The following motion was made relative to <br /> school closings: <br /> It was moved and seconded that on the report <br /> of Mr. White that the Superintendent of Schools <br /> has presented a proposal which deals with the <br /> reduction of school costs in the face of declining <br /> enrollment through the closing of schools and other <br /> related matters without impairing the quality of <br /> education in the Lexington School system, the <br /> Appropriation Committee endorses this proposal and <br /> authorizes Mr. White to express this to the School <br /> Committee. <br /> SO VOTED <br /> III . LIBRARY <br /> A. No change in budget. <br /> B. Security system cost - $126, 000 <br /> C. Over 1,000 books lost over a year. <br /> D. Chairman Furash asked what has happened to the honor <br /> system? — <br /> E. Howard Levingston recommends the library putting system <br /> in but first the library must come to grips with the <br /> situation. <br /> IV. RECREATION <br /> A. Trails - 0 <br /> B. Tennis - 0 <br /> C . Ballfield - 0 <br /> D. Bikepaths - 0 <br /> E. Soccer - 0 <br /> F. Center Pool - .0 <br /> V. PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> A. Neil Chapman has been put back on the above Board. <br /> B.
