What does the Traffic Committee <br /> do that would not cover this? <br /> LAND ACQ. Long range bonding is proposed. Is this an <br /> open pocketbook proposal? Is Sanitary landfill <br /> land available? <br /> COMMUNITY We need to look into the proposals. <br /> IMPROVEMENTS <br /> BICENTENNIAL Whole thing needs to be reviewed. <br /> VOTING What does the law require with respect to <br /> number of voting machines? <br /> IV. REPORTS <br /> The Chairman stated that he felt that this year a Warrant <br /> Article should be prepared to request a Personnel Board. <br /> D. White reported on his meeting with F. Frick, Chairman of <br /> the School Committee. He said with the elimination of <br /> Elementary French $200,000 and 9 teachers would go. The <br /> School Committee might be receptive to the idea. The peak <br /> number of pupils was 9,000. At this time, they are 800 below <br /> that, with a projected reduction of 400 per year. The LEA <br /> negotiations will be "tough" this year. But he feels that it <br /> is imperative that the staff be reduced this year. 15 to 20 <br /> people should go.
