Campbell <br /> Also present Paul Newman, Phil Geiger and Sheldon Spector. <br /> M. O'Sullivan opened meeting to School Dept. <br /> P. Newman opened discussion indicating support from TM and Selectmen <br /> Paul Geiger expects final numbers this week <br /> *bottom line has been set and is currently being redistributed <br /> *summary of pluses and minuses handed out <br /> *administrative positions being cut by $363.000, none of which are teachers. <br /> some of these positions will be replaced by teachers <br /> *instructional support cuts discussed <br /> *eliminate sabbatical for 4 or 5 employees vs getting training for 425 <br /> employees <br /> *losing 134 students at high school, but adding 7 new teachers at elementary <br /> level <br /> *if high school reduction is 134 students <br /> *possible 11 retirees, mostly high school <br /> *sick leave buy back contracted out for all new hires <br /> *operating reductions - lunch program project leap, instrumental fee <br /> *total budget reduction $886,000 (also cut was approximately 4 million in <br /> teacher and administrative requests) . <br /> *Improvements to FY 90 Budget <br /> see attached <br /> *Capital Improvements $1,850.000 to be discussed at a later date <br /> *difficult to compare FY 90 budget to FY 89 due to different format <br /> Meeting adjourned 10:00 PM <br />
