52 <br /> Article 21. To see if the Town will amend the General By-laws of <br /> the Town by adding to article XXVI, a new section substantially as <br /> follows: <br /> Sec . 2. The fees for storage of gasoline under General Laws, <br /> Ch. 148, sec . 13, as amended, shall be as follows: <br /> For issuing the original licenses, $1.00 plus a reasonable charge <br /> for advertising. <br /> For each annual certificate of registration, $.50 <br /> Article 22. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to <br /> appoint one of its members to the Board of Appeals, in accordance with <br /> G. L. Chapter 41, Sec . 4A, or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> Article 23. To see if the Town wil recommend to the Board of <br /> Selectmen that licenses be :ranted for public exhibition of moving <br /> pictures on Sundays to which admission may be charges, or act in any <br /> other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 24. To see if the Tom will authorize the Selectmen to <br /> install an electric light pole and light on land of the Boston <br /> Maine Railroad near the railroad station at Lexington Center, under the <br /> authority of G. L. Ch. 40, Sec . 5 (33) or any other power them thereto <br /> enabling, and to appropriate a sum of money to defray the expenses <br /> thereof, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 25 . To see if the Town will vote to amend the General By- <br /> laws of the Town of Lexington, as follows: <br /> By changing Article XXII, Sec , 1 to read as follows : <br /> "Section 1. No owner or agent having charge of any building or <br /> for of land abutting on a sidewalk, shall place, or permit or suffer <br /> to remain for more than four hours between sunrise and sunset, any <br /> snow or ice upon such sidewalks, unless such ice is made even and <br /> covered with sand, sawdust, earth or ashes to prevent slipping, ” or <br /> act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to establish a& a town <br /> way or accept the layout of as a town way, Fern Street from the present <br /> end of the accepted way to Moreland Avenue, so c ailed, as laid out by <br /> the Selectmen, - and shown upon a certain plan on file in the office of <br /> the Town Clerk, or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> Article 27. To see if the Town will appropriate money for the <br /> payment for premiums on policies of insurance against loss or damage <br /> to Town property which may result from enemy attack, including any <br /> action taken by the Military, Naval, or Air Force of the United States <br /> in resisting enemy attack, or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> Article 28. To see if the Town will ratify and approve payments <br /> or liability for snow removal in 1943 prior to this meeting due to an <br /> extreme emergency involving the safety of persons and property, as <br /> voted by two-thirds of the Selectmen, under authority of%G:. L.,. Ch. 44, <br /> Sec. 31, and appropriate money therefor, or act in any other manner in <br /> relation thereto. <br /> Article 29. To see if the Town will ratify and approve payments <br /> or liability for repairs and reconstruction of the Central Fire Station <br /> and replacement of equipment damaged or destroyed by a fire , due to an <br /> extreme emergency involving the safety of persons and procoerty, as <br /> voted by two-thirds of the Selectmen, under authority of G. L., Ch. 44, <br /> Sec. 31, and appropriate money therefore; said money to be provided by <br /> direct appropriation, by transfer from available funds, or by a com- <br /> bination of the two methods, or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> Article 30, To see if the Town, pursuant to authority contained <br /> In Chapter 20 of the Acts of 1943, will revoke its acceptance of Chapter <br /> 635 of the Acts of 1912, being an Act relative to tenement houses in <br /> towns. <br />
