<br /> By-Laws and in resnerse to the petition of Frank " Perkin .: for the
<br /> amending of the zoning law and map of the T o:.n by changing from an
<br /> R . .' . DiEtrict to a C . 1 . DiEtrict the lot of land nt the westerly
<br /> corner of Ma : srchusetts Avenue mind oak street , the P1 ^ r.ring Board
<br /> after giving due notice as required by the Zoning, Law, held a iub -
<br /> hearing on June L . 1932 relating thereto .
<br /> At this mueting ten persons appea od in opposition to the
<br /> proposed amendment while only the petitioner aj.peared in its favor .
<br /> The Ilrnning Board after hearing all who desired to speak and after
<br /> considering the status of the property ni'fected , recommends to the
<br /> Town that the proposed change in the zoning law be not monde .
<br /> The Planniy; g Board recognizes that the area described in
<br /> the petition is nlready- occupied for a non- conforming use but take-
<br /> ing into consideration the sentiment of the neighbors as expre :. sed
<br /> at the hearing , is opposed to the further extension of development
<br /> of this particular tract for business purposes .
<br /> 'ohile the location . of the area is such that serious con-
<br /> sideration must be given to complication of traffic on Uaas , Avenue
<br /> due to any increase busineEs , the Planning Board is of the opin-
<br /> ion that no ch'-mge in the Zoning Law should be made with respect
<br /> to the location now applied for until such time as the needs of
<br /> the district require a more extensive businets zone .
