Chair Anne Eccles called the September 23,2021 Historic Districts Commission meeting regarding the
Mount Independence Historic District to order at 5:00pm.
Chair Anne Eccles began the Public Hearing with a PowerPoint presentation including an overview of the
proposed Historic District Commission.
Public Comment
The publically generally felt that the creation of the Mount Independence Historic District Commission was a
good idea.Most neighbors were in support of preserving Follen Hill.
Some members of the public spoke out against the creation of the district, claiming the process was not in good
faith and the reason this was coming forward was only to protect 12 Summit. They felt that a district shouldn't be
created because of one property and was unfair to the homeowner.
The Board will meet again at the end of October to hold another information session.
