Chair Anne Eccles called the September 14,2021 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at
5:00pm
Discussion Items
The Historic District Commission met to discuss the resident led proposed Mount Independence Historic District.
Chair, Anne Eccles began with a PowerPoint presentation on the history of the Follen Hill. This presentation
included the proposed district boundaries.
This meeting included comments from the public. Some noted comments are as follows:
Fred Gilgun-Representing owner of 12 Summit Road. Wanted to know the charge of the committee. Spoke
against the proposed Historic District claiming the report is flawed,is not accurate and is outdated.
The abutters that spoke following Mr. Gilgun were all in favor of the proposed Historic District
Current owner of 12 Summit Road, Ozan Dokmecioglu also spoke out against the District, claiming it was unfair
and he was deliberately kept away from the process.
It was noted that there will be a Public Hearing on September 24, 2021 at 5:00pm where anyone will be able to
ask questions or comment publically.
