Omar - it would be great to provide a plan which we can't do, but we should <br /> tackle writing that plan ourselves. <br /> Kevin suggests taking Cambridge/Somerville and stealing liberally <br /> Mark pushes for choosing an interim chair to organize, Betty is willing to do <br /> some work for organizing and doing chair duties, but need folks to help write <br /> a bike plan. Has gathered a group of folks willing to do subcommittee work. <br /> Richard mentions that over the winter there will be discussions with DPW <br /> about Scenic Byway funding for infrastructure on Mass Ave out of <br /> Lexington. There will be a bunch of blue sky ideas about funding. <br /> Susan's Liaison report - has asked a member in her department to tackle <br /> starting on the Bike Friendly Community application and reaching across the <br /> town staff to find things. She thinks our events and some other things will <br /> really help our application, even though we have not done well with bike <br /> lanes / bike plan. Her concern is huge around the bike plan. Asks that <br /> after the new year the committee discuss the various parts of the plan in an <br /> agenda. Smart Cycling and Instructor Training classes are important but need <br /> more seats filled. Bike Rode and Bike Smart coming up in <br /> September/October. Wants to plan May bike events for next year as soon as <br /> the new year happens. SRTS needs a liaison.
