300 ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION COMMITTEE <br />(Subcommittee of the Town Celebrations Committee) <br />Members: 15 <br />Appointed By: Board of Selectmen <br />Length of Term: Until celebration complete in 2013 <br />Appointments Made: <br />Meeting Times: <br />Description This Committee will: <br />• Assess public interest in pursuing a townwide celebration to commemorate the 300 year of <br />Lexington's founding <br />• Recommend a series of events to celebrate Lexington's tercentennial <br />• Oversee the implementation of the events <br />Criteria for Membership Passion for Lexington history; representatives of historical educational, cultural and civic <br />organizations <br />Ref. <br />1. Charge adopted by the Board of selectmen and designated as Special Municipal Employees at its meeting <br />2. on January 8, 2007. <br />3. Selectmen approved removing requirement to establish a non - profit corporation to raise necessary funds to <br />support the events at its meeting on February 14, 2011. <br />4.
