Ms.SofenprovidedanoverviewoftheMunroeCenterandtheircurrentrequest.Theproposed <br />projectwouldfundastudy(administeredbytheDepartmentofPublicFacilities)thatwould <br />explorebothreplacementandrestorationofthecurrentwindows,provideestimates,prepare <br />bidplansandlaythegroundworkforfuturereplacementorrestorationfunds. <br />Ms.Sofendidnotknowthecosttoreplacethewindows.Thestudywouldprovidethe <br />estimatesforbothoptions.Mr.GriffithsexplainedthatPatGoddard,DirectorofPublic <br />Facilities,recommendedtheamountof$30,000tofundthestudy.Mr.DeMangoalsoexplained <br />thatthestudywouldhelptodetermineifthewindowscontainedanyhazardousmaterials,such <br />asleadpaintorPCBs. <br />Ms.Fenollosaexpressedsomeconfusionaboutthepotentialdisparitybetweenthecost <br />estimateprovidedbythestudyandtheactualreplacement/restorationcosts.Mr.Griffiths <br />explainedthatsometimesthecostsprovidedbystudiesareappropriateand <br />sometimestheyare <br />not.Mr.DeMangoexplainedtheywouldalsobesubmittinganRFPforthework. <br />Afterfurtherdiscussionabouttheproject,theCommitteevoted90inastrawpolltosupport <br />theproject.Ms.Fenollosasuggestedthatiftheprojectreceivesfinalapproval,theMunroe <br />CenterbepreparedtoexplaintherelationshipbetweenthemselvesandtheTownatTown <br />Meeting. <br />Themeetingwasadjournedat3:55PM. <br />Thefollowingdocumentsweresubmittedatthemeeting: <br />1)LexingtonFriendsoftheArtsdbaMunroeCenterfortheArtsWindowsRestorationProposal <br />totheCommunityPreservationCommittee <br />2)MunroeSchoolWindowStudyCapitalImprovementProjectapplication <br />Respectfullysubmitted, <br />ElizabethLane <br />AdministrativeAssistant <br />CommunityPreservationCommittee <br />
