SEPAC Business Meeting Minutes Date: October 5, 2015 Attendees: Ann Wolf, Jennifer Yaar, Robin Abrams, Bettina McGimsey, Barbara White, Kathy Cunningham, Lisa O'Brien, Deb Osber, Justine Neely, Sheethal Kundoor Location: Via Lago, Lexington Center Call to order: 9:35 am Adjourned: 11:05 am Approvals • Meeting minutes from July 6, 2015 were approved unanimously. Officer Reports • Membership Chair: 37 members total. Lisa O'Brien to send out a reminder to members to renew membership for 2015 -2016 school year. • ETS Coffees: participation varied. Concerns about usefulness of SEPAC /SEPTA at Out -of- District Parent Coffee. Holding coffees at beginning of school year might be the best timing —maybe hold some additional coffees mid -year? • Business Meetings: Group agreed that business meetings will be held monthly, alternating with morning meetings and meetings at 6:30 pm on the same night as the monthly presentations. Next business meeting: November 5 at 6:30 pm. Morning business meetings will be held from 9:30- 11:00 am on 12/7, 2/1, 4/4, and 6/6. Robin to post business meetings on Web site. Upcoming Meeting Review • Jenn Yaar to follow up with Laura Lucibello about AV equipment for 10/15 meeting. • November 5 —Basic Rights speaker confirmed. • December 3 —Jenn Yaar and Ann Wolf to coordinate getting questions for Ellen Sugita and Dr. C. • January meeting— waiting to hear back on specific date from CTDS —need to check on approval for videotaping. • March 3 —OT /Speech Therapy panel —may need to narrow focus. • April 7— Guidance discussion —Ann Wolf and Robin Abrams to meet with Valerie Viscosi to discuss focus. Maybe helpful to reach out to parents of students on 504 plans to better understand common questions /issues. Bettina McGimsey to gather info from Dyslexia Support Group parents. • May 5— Neuropsych testing. • Mike Law Transition Workshops —first meeting to be held on October 19. Ann Wolf and Robin Abrams to follow up with Mike Law on advertising these workshops. • All meetings to be posted on Web site. Support Groups • Colleen McAdams contacted Jennifer Yaar about the idea of hosting monthly networking /support groups at her home. Jennifer Yaar to follow up with Colleen McAdams on this idea.
