APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE - NOVEMBER 2015 STM #2 to the Lexington Housing Assistance Board (LexHAB) to create an affordable housing unit. The barn and the remaining portion of the land will be used for conservation purposes. LexHAB is currently requesting $200,000 for interior and exterior repairs to prepare the house for occu- pancy. Their repair estimate, totaling $177,100, is detailed in the table below. An additional $22,900 was added as a contingency to accommodate anticipated requirements of the Historical Commission. Should Town Meeting grant the request, LexHAB intends to begin work in the Spring of 2016, using their pre- ferred suppliers in order to keep costs low. The funding source for the proposed expenditure of $200,000 is recommended to come from the Community Housing Reserve of the Community Preservation Fund. The Committee recommends approval of this request (9 -0).
