<br />Approved Meeting Notes <br />Committee Name: Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee <br />Date, Time and Location of Meeting: May 14, 2015, Town Office Bldg, 7:00 p.m. <br />Members Present: Peggy Enders, (Chair), Marita Hartshorn, Bob Hausslein (FoLB <br />Chair), Mike Tabaczynski, Laurel Carpenter, Bob Dangel, George Gagliardi, John <br />Frey, Carolyn Levi, Richard Canale (Planning Board Liaison), Sandra Shaw <br />(Recreation Committee Liaison) <br />The April Meeting Minutes were approved as amended. <br />Bikeway Signage Project <br />: Marita volunteered to draft ideas for temporary <br />signs on the Bikeway to take the form of “Burma Shave” messages about <br />safety. Peggy will present the idea to the Board of Selectmen and ask for their <br />approval. <br />Mass DOT and the 3-Intersection Project on Mass Ave <br />: The committee <br />reviewed and unanimously approved a letter to MassDOT regarding the <br />proposed improvements to the Mass Ave corridor between Pleasant Street <br />and Marrett Road. <br />Bike Connection <br />: Bikeway to LexFarm: Peggy distributed a map showing two <br />options to access LexFarm via bicycle. The committee recommended option <br />two. <br />Input to Board of Selectmen Annual Goal Setting <br />: The committee <br />discussed submitting recommended concrete, measurable goals for the <br />Selectmen’s consideration. Three items should be emphasized: 1. The need <br />for better and more bike parking in the Center as well as around town; 2. The <br />need for sustainable bicycle safety and education programs; 3. The need to <br />improve data collection and reporting of bicycle accident data. Peggy will draft <br />a document and share it with the committee in time to meet the deadline. <br />th <br />Tri-Town Committee Meeting <br />: The meeting will be on June 6. Peggy will <br />send agenda choices via email. She proposed having Jack Johnson speak <br />about the growing popularity of electric-assist bicycles. The Bedford <br />Reformatory Path is moving forward. <br />Liaison Reports: <br /> <br />
