<br />SITE COUNCIL 12/19/14 <br />ATTENDANCE: Bronte Abraham, Lynnette Allen, Russ Bosbach, Angela Chang, <br />Lee Noel Chase, Meg Collela, Betsy Conway, Jean Kelly, Julia Mabuchi, Susan <br />Orenstein, Naomi Priver, Deb Sabin, Deidre Schadler, Roxana Spitaleri-Risso, <br />Zelda Rubenstein <br />I.approve minutes 11/21 <br />II.TrafÐc (update from district-wide SBC meeting 12/17/14) <br />A.Angela asked how to get a trafÐc guard <br />1.said is easy, write letter to MaryEllen Dunn, police want to have presence for <br />safety in general <br />2.tried last year but nothing ever came of it <br />a)asked for someone on Middleby <br />3.try to arrange a meeting as follow-up <br />4.Angela and Deb will draft letter and send it off <br />B.Bridge is second priority for something to be done, trafÐc-wise but that will be 3 <br />years from now <br />C.will put in sidewalk on Prospect Hill <br />D.to look for more parking <br />1.looking at circle since Ðelds are wetland, back will take too long to study and <br />implement <br />a)will need to address the trees tho, but could be done <br />E.currently having volunteers from teachers in morning <br />1.may see if parents will take on again, or one day a week for a month <br />(8:20-8:45a) <br />2.Roxana will make sign-up genius or google sign up sheet <br />III.Enrollment <br />A.no special town meeting in January, multiple proposals going to School <br />Committee as short and long term solutions <br />1.Bridge parents concerned about the numbers being thrown out as capacity <br />2.modulars at some time during school year next year or the following year <br />a)will be longer term modules <br />b)Meg does prefer better quality as will likely become long term <br />3.the gym cannot Ðt more students for All School Morning Meeting, cafeteria will <br />be too crowded <br />4.thought to build onto Harrington as can have more wings added, some <br />Bowman kids would go there, some of Bridge to Bowman <br />5.5 year plan may include 7th elementary school <br />B.School Committee meeting earlier this week <br />1.enrollment target of 530, but unclear how to make it smaller <br />2.the Committee members are talking aloud without a speciÐc plan <br />C.Lee Noel sits on Permanent Building Committee and says the options are limit <br />the numbers or expand the space for Bridge <br />1.she is concerned if we add modules will be seen as classrooms that can then <br />house more classes instead of what Meg says as to use for specialists <br /> <br />
