Selectmen's Meeting — February 10, 2015 <br />Mr. Looney, Comcast Project Coordinator, requested approval to install conduit in Meriam <br />Street. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5 -0 to approve the petition of Comcast to <br />lay, install and maintain underground conduit on Meriam Street from an existing pole to an <br />existing stub at Depot Place, approximately 200 + feet. <br />The hearing was closed at 7:13 p.m. <br />Discussion of Appointed Committee's Compliance with Open Meeting Law Minutes Posting <br />Requirements <br />Mr. Handwerker was not able to attend this meeting. The item will be rescheduled. <br />Proposed Ambulance Rate Adjustments <br />Mr. Valente explained that the FY2016 recommended budget calls for an increase in ambulance <br />rates to fund four additional firefighter /paramedics. This would permit staffing of the second <br />ambulance 24 hours per day, five days per week. The increase in ambulance rates will bring <br />Lexington's fee structure in line with the surrounding communities and be largely consistent <br />with the reimbursement rates allowed by various health insurance providers. <br />The recommended rates are: <br />• Basic Life Support: $1,251.00 <br />• Advanced Life Support Category l: $1,515.00 <br />• Advanced Life Support Category 2: $2,056.00 <br />• Mileage: $28.00 per mile <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5 -0 to approve the Town's ambulance rates <br />as proposed, to be implemented as soon as the Town's billing provider can do so. <br />Working Group of Appropriation Committee and Tax Deferral and Exemption Study Committee <br />Findings <br />Residential Exemption Option <br />The Selectmen asked a working group consisting of Ms. Blier from the Tax Deferral and <br />Exemption Study Committee and Ms. McLeish and Mr. Radulescu -Banu from the Appropriation <br />Committee to analyze the FY2015 property tax impact and review the residential exemption <br />option and whether it would be a good option for Lexington. <br />Ms. Blier presented information on the FY2015 triennial recertification, percentile buckets, <br />average residential assessment increases, variability and the residential exemption option. <br />
