TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br />United Nations Flags to the town's schools, by presenting one to Mr. William D. Perkins, <br />Principal of the Bowman School. <br />Mr. Goodrich, Principal, andtheteachers and pupils of' the Bridge School presented <br />a United Nations Day program to accompany the planting of a United Nations tree at the <br />Bridge School. The tree was provided by the Lexington Jaycees and the program took place <br />on the lawn of the school. <br />Veterans Day <br />Servicemen of all wars were remembered by a parade beginning at 10:00 A.M. from <br />the Munroe School, under the command of Chief Marshal Wallace W. Ormiston, Commander, <br />Post 3007, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The parade assembled on the Battle Green for cere- <br />monies which included an address by the Honorable Ronald C. MacKenzie, State Senator, <br />Seventh Middlesex District. All units were dismissed at Cary Hall, following a review of <br />the parade by Chief Marshal Ormiston and his staff. <br />General <br />The Committee enjoys the cooperation of all town departments and organizations. <br />We would, however, particularly like to thank the park department and the police depart- <br />ment. We would be lost without their invaluable help. <br />Total expenses for all of the committee's celebrations amounted to $4,682.99 for <br />1967. This compares with $4,668.84, $5,137.61, $4,737.00 and $5,399.86 for the years 1963, <br />1964, 1965 and 1966, respectively. <br />Raymond B. Barnes, Chairman <br />White Tricorne Hat Award <br />Annually, on Patriots Day, <br />the Lions Club of Lexington pre- <br />sents a white tricorne hat to a citi- <br />zen who has rendered outstanding <br />service to the town. Donald E. <br />Nickerson is shown with the 1967 <br />award. Recipients of the awards <br />since 1954 are listed below: <br />1954 Edwin B.
