HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION <br />and to preserve the village atmosphere of the East Village Historic District. <br />S. Lawrence Whipple was appointed commissioner to succeed Philip B. Parsons, <br />who did not accept reappointment after faithful service since the Historic Dis- <br />trict Commission was established in 1957. George W. Emery did not accept reap- <br />pointment as Associate, and Associate Royston T. Daley resigned. The following <br />were appointed to fill the associate commissioner vacancies: Ruth B. Adams, <br />Sarah P. Harkness and Amalia G. Samoylenko. Appreciation is expressed to our <br />Clerk, Barbara Gilson, and to Evelyn F.
