<br />SITE COUNCIL 9/26/14 <br />ATTENDANCE: Nimisha Asthagiri, Russ Bosbach, Angela Chang, Meg Collela, <br />Betsy Conway, Naomi Priver, Deb Sabin, Deidre Schadler, Debbi Side <br />Guest: Erin Maguire <br />I.Site Council <br />A.Mrs Gray to check on website, to add meeting dates <br />B.Add to Bridge to home, recruit another parent <br />II.School Improvement Plan <br />A.Have reviewed last year, yes is shorter, only 2 goals this year <br />B.next year depending on SchoolComm/Town Meeting may add topic if needed, is <br />enrollment <br />C.will update SIP twice during year and will add results column <br />D.technology <br />1.will still be doing MCAS this year; PARCC is being piloted and waiting on <br />State for guidelines on what technology is needed <br />2.Åimplement increased technology useÆ <br />a)ie a new 5th grade teacher is getting a smart board <br />b)younger grade getting more iPads, so will train teacher how to utilize in <br />class <br />c)so technology is vague as varies by the use/facilitation <br />d)use for data entry (have used in math assessment K-2, AMES web, even <br />thoughts of PE to use for assessment) <br />e)do have more hardware Ä macbook airs and iPads <br />f)use to enhance the curriculum in older grades, not replace <br />g)District does give Professional Development so lots of training, staff feel is <br />beneÐcial <br />III.Brainstorm <br />A.SBC meeting to review what assessments are going on, what the jargon is <br />1.may have overview in SBC then see if more here or if open to general parents <br />B.Input to Superintendent hiring <br />1.surveys, forums <br />2.consultant group to bring 5 candidates to a select committee, will bring down <br />to 3 candidates which are brought forward <br />3.email Naomi about other ideas <br />4.parking working right now <br />IV.Enrollment <br />A.Meeting Monday night 7-8p <br />B.Bowman to join us <br />C.Overview of what has been done <br />D.two working groups formed from people within <br />E.Overcapacity <br />1.feel it in gym, cafeteria <br />2.over next couple years Bridge/Bowman to continue to increase enrollment <br />from Avalon capacity <br />3.next year will have more sections, but where will they put placed physically <br /> <br />
