<br />Community Farming Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 16, 2014 <br />A meeting of the Community Farming Committee (CFC) was held on September 16, <br />2014 at 7:35 p.m. in the Public Works building. In attendance were: Chairman Michael <br />Bliss, members Alan Wrigley, Charles Lamb, Tom Olivier and Ken Karnofsky from the <br />Lexington Community Farm Coalition, Inc. (LexFarm). <br />Meeting called to order by Chairman Michael Bliss. <br />Brief discussion about conservation restriction. It appears that Town Counsel did not take <br />our previous suggestions. We decided to postpone the discussion until we have feedback <br />from the Town. <br />Tom has done a little research on the Farm Bureau. He was concerned when it was first <br />raised as a potential holder of the restriction. He now feels that it will be a satisfactory <br />party to the restriction <br />Mike feels that he has a handle on minutes to be posted on website. <br />Post minutes on website each meeting after they are approved. <br />Committee request for annual Town report, Mike will prepare and send around for input. <br />Ken Karnofsky report for LexFarm Most of growing season is over. 212 CSA shares <br />were sold, next year they will try for a few more, the CSA is successful to date.; Farm <br />stand not as successful as hoped against first year estimate. <br />LexFarm Organization; 3 new board members <br />Sue Shiffer: Alison Ganette; Clerk Amanda Mol <br />Nancy Gold had to resign for health reasons <br />Fund Art for the Farm – 80 people in attendance, 7 – 8 Thousand was raised, now <br />110,000 of their 150,000 goal. <br />Would like to start a facilities committee whose object will be to maintain and improve <br />the property. <br />Mike: Farm stand important as a way to invite people in. Ken they will set up table to tell <br />people who come to the stand what we are about <br />Can we meet every other month? Once the restriction is completed we will try to move to <br />every other month absent a pressing issue. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted to accept the minutes of the July 17, <br />2014 meeting. <br />8:15pm meeting adjourned Respectfully submitted Alan Wrigley <br />1 <br />
